Validation Engineering - Internship

Are you an undergrad student studying technology seeking an exciting summer 2018 internship and looking for an opportunity to influence the Quality of a consumer product?

We are looking for students ready to roll up their sleeves and help test game-changing products over the course of a 12 week summer internship at our corporate Headquarters in Cupertino.

We are looking for students excited to help solve big problems and join a team with equally motivated co-workers. This is an awesome opportunity to work on early stage product development, solving real consumer issues.

The Internship Opportunity

At Seagate, as a Validation Intern you will have the opportunity to help with the validation of new products, testing new products and lead new development of test tools. You will help with the testing of products, building and organization of data sets, and develop tools to test specific areas of products.

Great interpersonal skills and the ability to build consensus is a must. You should also be highly analytical and detail-oriented, have exceptional organizational skills, and possess a penchant for helping cross-functional teams. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are essential to succeed in this role.

Our summer interns typically work Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm. The hours are subject to change with or without notice at the sole discretion of Seagate.

Requirements

Our ideal intern candidate must be a self-directed team player who thrives in a continually changing environment and has the following attributes and experience:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and returning to school in fall 2018.

  • Excellent analytical and debug skills.

  • Experience and or coursework with Linux applications and Python.

  • Advocate for and improve upon software quality practices as a means to delivering a phenomenal product.

  • Work collaboratively with other teams in the company such as Product Management, Client Software and UX.

  • Familiarity with Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms and Networking.

  • Help drive constant innovation in both products and processes.
