A Code Compliance Officer/Graffiti Removal Technician performs a variety of duties necessary to execute the County's Graffiti Removal Program and assist with the County’s Tool Shed and Block Party Trailer Programs. Often working independently, they execute a range of tasks involved in the removal of graffiti, the reservation of tools, delivery of tools and pick-up of tool shed equipment, delivery and pick up of the Block Party Trailer in Adams County. This position reports to the Neighborhood Services Code Compliance Supervisor.

Examples of Duties for Success

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to the residents of Adams County. 
  • Monitor the Graffiti, Tool Shed and Block Party Trailer hotlines and email accounts.
  • Research problems and complaints regarding graffiti in Adams County and other contracted agencies.
  • Remove graffiti from County, public, private, and commercial properties using a variety of specialized equipment and chemicals/solvents.
  • Paint over graffiti using appropriate paints; match and mix paints; determine the appropriate paint-color, materials, equipment, and supplies needed to complete job.
  • Remove non-approved signs and posters from County property. Distribute and retrieve waivers from members of the community, update County’s graffiti transparency portal.
  • Provide information to the public regarding policies and procedures for the County’s graffiti removal services,tool shed and block party programs.
  • Research records for legal descriptions of property, jurisdiction of property, and owner's records.
  • Maintain a log of inspection and graffiti removal activities performed regarding the findings of daily inspections.
  • Schedule Tool Shed and Block Party reservations, deliver and Pick-up Tool Shed equipment and Block Party Trailer.
  • Perform inventory and minor maintenance on assigned vehicle, trailer, tools, and equipment.
  • Train public on proper use of tools and safe practices. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Work independently with minimum supervision towards achieving team goals. 
  • Computer Skills: Ability to learn the operation of computer and County- supported software.
  • Establish, maintain, and foster positive working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Take proper safety precautions, anticipate unsafe circumstances, and act accordingly to prevent accidents. 
  • Use all required safety equipment.

More Qualifications for Success

Experience: 

  • Minimum of one year experience any combination of the following fields: customer service, public service, construction, labor, driving, or related.
  • Preference for those with lived experience with homelessness. 

Academic Experience: 

  • None Required. 
  • Preference of High School Diploma or GED.

Lived Experience:

  • Lived experience includes justice system involvement, incarceration, poverty and homelessness, and/or behavioral health.
  • Up to one (1) year towards combined experience for demonstrated lived experience.

License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire date.

 Background Check: Will undergo background check. Any petty crimes or crimes that are older than two (2) years should not be an automatic disqualifier during background checks.


Employees in this benefit class are eligible based on the number of hours worked and the duration of employment.

Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the 457b deferred compensation plan:

  • Duration - 3 months or less
  • Weekly Hours - Any
  • Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks
  • Lactation friendly certified workplace

  • Weekly Hours - 29 or less hours
  • Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks

Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the the medical plan for the employee and child(ren) only as well as the 457b deferred compensation plan:

  • Weekly Hours - 30 or more
  • Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks
