Since 1936, the National Wildlife Federation (NWF)
has been uniting Americans in our efforts to protect wildlife. NWF has over four million members and supporters, with affiliates in 46 states and territories, regional Natural Resource Centers and Project Offices. We give voice to the wildlife conservation values that are part of our country’s heritage. Our initiatives are charting a new course for wildlife that our children and grandchildren will thank us for.
What we do
NWF’s accomplishments include:
- helping two forward-thinking U.S. senators bring global warming legislation to the floor
- rallying grassroots support behind a call in the Senate for mandatory reductions in greenhouse gases
- removing the Yellowstone grizzly bear from the endangered species list after a 20-year effort to boost their numbers
- creating a new Discovery Channel series called “Backyard Habitat”
