Since its inception, Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers (RMCC) has been a leader in cancer care. RMCC began in the early 1990s as a small group practice of six physicians with a new approach to treating cancer—administering chemotherapy on an outpatient basis. RMCC has since developed into the premier oncology network in Colorado and administering chemotherapy on an outpatient basis is now the norm.
RMCC is Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care with more than 55 physicians who treat patients in 20 locations throughout the state. From the latest in radiation technology to nationally recognized psychosocial support programs, RMCC provides the most advanced care, along with the healing power of love, to patients with all types of cancers and blood disorders.
The pioneering group of physicians who formed RMCC also founded a national company called American Oncology Resources (AOR), which focused on growing and managing cancer centers. In June of 1999, AOR merged with a company called PRN and formed US Oncology. US Oncology, Inc., a division of McKesson Corporation, is a leading integrated oncology company. By uniting one of the largest community-based cancer treatment and research networks in America, US Oncology expands patient access to high-quality care and advances the science of cancer care. Headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, US Oncology is affiliated with 1,400 community-based oncologists, and works with patients, hospitals, payers, and the medical industry across all phases of the cancer research and delivery continuum.
