The Department Intern provides administrative support to the assigned department staff to include the Management team. The position provides general support for the department initiatives and goals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Provide general clerical assistance, including but not limited to photocopying, filing, scanning, and faxing.
Set up and provide logistics support for meetings and special events.
Shadow Management team and staff when available.
Perform various duties as requested for the department's operations and activities.
Assist with ad hoc projects for the department.
Other duties as assigned.
Candidate must be actively enrolled in high school
Candidate must be at least 16 years old
Minimum typing speed of 45-50 wpm, preferred
Ability to effectively and accurately manage multiple tasks and complex projects in a fast paced environment;
Good verbal and written communication skills;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications, along with a strong orientation to using personal computers in a network setting
Strong interpersonal skills required.
Provide assistance to various departments through MIF
Assist with the scheduling of assigned outpatient diagnostic procedures and insurance verification process. This includes, but is not limited to answering telephones, maintaining records, monitoring flow, and schedules outpatient procedures in the registration system and routes schedules to appropriate modalities.
Support patients by providing assistance, transport, and preparation to facilitate safe, effective, and confidential care.
Provide environmental and technical support including room and equipment preparation/set-up for procedures, cleanup of room/equipment after a procedure is completed. This excludes those tasks associated with ionizing radiation.
