Trimble is hiring a Program Manager. The role is initially focused on program managing the successful launch of Trimble Construction One releases. Trimble Construction One transforms our overall engagement with our customers, making Trimble easier to do business with.

Job Description - Program Manager

Trimble is embarking on a digital transformation that will transition our business model, shift our products and services to XaaS, and introduce best practice processes for providing a simplified customer experience. Our goals are focused around successful customer outcomes across the entire buyer/customer journey. Our overall business is divided among several Sectors, serving broad vertical markets with specific needs. Having aligned frameworks around how we go to market, how we offer our products and how we serve our customers ensures we can deliver the best possible customer experience with maximum efficiency in terms of business systems and resources.

The Program Manager will lead cross divisional teams to successfully launch the Trimble Construction One releases. The responsibilities range from managing key deliverables to facilitating TC1 specific requirements with stakeholders (Digital Transformation Office, DX Program Managers, Corporate Marketing, Construction)

Key Outcomes

  • Report Trimble Construction One program status to executive management

  • Monitor and report RAID items

  • Implement and operate a project information system (central repository for all project information)

  • Facilitate and drive alignment sessions

  • Coordinate between different divisions and the DX/DTO teams

  • Develop and maintain a project scoreboard (Weekly Status, Program dashboard etc)

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plans and oversees multiple concurrent activities from program initiation to program completion, communicating progress throughout to program stakeholders and executive team.

  • Responsible for ensuring alignment with multiple programs (DX, Construction Cloud, Platform)

  • Proactively identifies risks and issues, drives the team to develop risk mitigation and issue management strategies and communicates impacts to the program and executive teams.

  • Applies judgment in order to identify and resolve issues and define the lowest-risk path to production.

  • Provides effective communication regarding status, issues, objectives, dependencies, risks and plan execution to management and the product development team.

  • Drives collaboration and communication of cross functional, globally dispersed, teams.

  • Plays a leadership role in driving continuous improvement to an established product development process, modifying approach and process as the team deems appropriate so long as the product delivery meets time schedules, quality standards and existing development standards.

  • Develops and maintains product development schedules, with well-defined milestones, and resource allocation for funded projects and other R&D activities.

  • Inclusive leadership skills and ability to leverage varying skill sets and capabilities while achieving organizational objectives.

  • Owns resolution of conflicts by bringing key stakeholders and owners together to help them make decisions.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Well versed in multiple agile & related methodologies and has a proven track record of managing large software programs.

  • Effectively applies broad, in-depth, and up-to-date knowledge to pertinent program & project management, technical, business, and professional issues.

  • Effectively develops and uses a systematic approach to analyze and solve problems. Acts proactively to anticipate risks and seeks to mitigate them before they occur. Visualizes the big picture and effectively identifies key issues and designs harmonious and effective solutions.

  • Ability to quickly develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of divisional software products and remain expert on current product knowledge both from an internal and from a user perspective.

  • Has a good technical appreciation for architecting business applications using modern architectural (high-level) approaches. Well-organized, self-directed team player. Remains open to others' ideas, and exhibits willingness to try new things.

  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. Listens effectively, transmits information accurately and understandably, and actively seeks feedback. Effectively presents and explains information to various group sizes and levels of knowledge. Ability to communicate and work with senior and executive-level Strong leadership, decision-making and facilitation abilities with excellent communication, organizational and people skills, and the ability to effectively work across functional groups

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering or computer science plus a minimum of 10+ years of directly relevant experience in software development with a minimum of 6+ years of experience supervising and managing large programs / others or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with software Agile (scrum, SAFe etc) development cycles (concept to production).

  • Demonstrated program management discipline excellence.

  • Proficient with project/program management tools such as JIRA, Smartsheet, MS Project and, agile methodologies and bug tracking applications

  • Experience successfully acting as the program manager of multiyear, complex architectural projects with multiple teams that are globally disbursed.

  • Hands-on experience with developing and reporting on metrics for software development, test execution, bugs, issues, risks, and other aspects of project and program management

  • Able to help others estimate amount of work, schedules, and resource requirements by asking questions, analyzing data, and challenging assumptions

  • Accomplished management skills, relationship-building skills, requirements gathering experience, and negotiating skills. Must be able to successfully drive multiple program activities in parallel.

  • Experience managing programs that involve teams in multiple locations in the USA and India.

  • Experience in working with teams from different organizations.
