PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUCCESS

A Tool Shed and Block Party Trailer Specialist performs a variety of duties necessary to execute the County's Tool Shed and Block Party Trailer Programs. Often working independently, they execute a range of tasks involved in the reservation of tools, delivery and pick-up of tool shed equipment, delivery and pick up of the Block Party Trailer in Adams County. This position reports to the Neighborhood Services Code Compliance Supervisor.


Examples of Duties for Success

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to the residents of Adams County.
  • Provide information to the public regarding policies and procedures for the Adams County Tool Shed and Block Party Programs.
  • Schedule Tool Shed and Block Party reservations; deliver and Pick-up Tool Shed equipment and Block Party Trailer.
  • Monitor the Tool Shed and Block Party Trailer hotlines and email accounts.
  • Research problems and complaints regarding Tool Shed and Block Party Trailer.
  • Distribute and retrieve waivers from members of the community.
  • Maintain a log of inspection; inspect tool shed and block party trailer on a regular basis, i.e., after every use and in between reservation periods.
  • Perform inventory and minor maintenance on assigned vehicle, trailer, tools, and equipment.
  • Train public on proper use of tools and safe practices.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Operate modern office equipment, including computer equipment, tablets, and cameras.
  • Maintain and update records, logs, and reports.
  • Work independently with minimum supervision towards achieving team goals.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to learn the operation of computer and County- supported software.
  • Establish, maintain, and foster positive working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Take proper safety precautions, anticipate unsafe circumstances, and act accordingly to prevent accidents. Use all required safety equipment.
More Qualifications for Success

This position requires two (2) years of total combined experience from the categories below, with a minimum of one (1) year as of related experience in any combination of the following fields: customer service, construction, labor, driving, or related.

Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience any combination of the following fields: customer service, public service, construction, labor, driving, or related.
Lived Experience:
Lived experience includes justice system involvement, incarceration, poverty and homelessness, and/or behavioral health.
  • Up to one (1) year of demonstrated lived experience may used to qualify towards 1 year of the combined required experience.*

Education and Training:
  • None Required. Preference of High School Diploma or GED.
License or Certificate:
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
Background Check:
  • Will undergo a background check and may be considered as long as three (3) years removed from formal custody and/or supervision.
