What Success Looks Like In This Job

This position is responsible for ensuring appraisal processes have been completed through every step. Appraisers are assigned several work tasks for appeals and permits. This position will ensure that the process has accurately been completed as defined in the Assessor's Office procedures. This position will also ensure that every parcel in the database has been valued for each reappraisal cycle. This position will further inspect unusual conditions as described in intervening years are entered correctly in the system and ensure that all the steps have been completed so the administrative functions can track data for Notices of Value. Upon identification of errors or steps missed as defined in the procedure the Quality Control Specialist will notify the Appraiser and their supervisor of those missing steps and ensure they are knowledgeable of the appropriate process to complete their work correctly. This position must be able to work in an ever-changing environment.

Examples of Duties for Success

  • Perform county wide core competencies
  • Collaborates with Chief Deputy Assessor, Residential Supervisors, Commercial Supervisor, Personal Property Supervisor and Assessor to create the Policy and Procedures for Quality control data issues.
  • Generate reports that provide information to the appraisers for inspection purposes, data entry and management as needed
  • Develops and runs quality control reports and ensures that data conforms to internal standards and presents findings to Assessor and Chief Deputy Assessor
  • Assists the Chief Deputy Assessor in reporting and meeting with the State Auditor to share the process and procedures used to ensure that all properties have been evaluated in every reappraisal cycle
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with supervisor, other employees, governmental agencies professionals and the public
  • Communicates effectively in verbal and written form with administrative staff, appraisal staff, supervisor and managers
  • May attend offsite meetings

More Qualifications for Success

Education

  • Required - High School / GED

  • Preferred - Bachelors' Degree

Experience

  • 2 years of experience with data quality management and regulatory requirements, Real Estate Appraisal, or related experience required.

License and/or certification

  • Possess or ability to obtain Colorado AdValorem Appraisal license preferred.

Background Check

Must pass criminal background check.
