Job Title: Capital Campaign Director

FLSA Status: Full Time - exempt
Reports to: Divisional Director of Development

Schedule: FT/E, M-F
Supervises: N/A

Start Date: TBD

Rate of Pay: $95,000/year

Closing Date: 10/18/23

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Function:

The Capital Campaign Director will focus on specific targeted Salvation Army campaigns, identified by the Intermountain Division's Divisional Commander and the Divisional Director of Development in concert with the Command Finance Council. He/she will be a key member of the leadership team working in close partnership with The Salvation Army Officers, team lead peers and Corps Advisory Board members.

Working with the Divisional Commander, Divisional Director of Development and Director of Major Gifts will manage a portfolio of top prospects and major donors while developing long-term productive relationships to maximize support for The Salvation Army.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead strategist for development department capital campaign teams.
  • Apply an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising-think creatively to develop strategies to increase revenue.
  • Consult with the Donor Services team in direct mail analysis, and set strategy for capital campaign and special internal mail initiatives.
  • Actively participate in all levels of the Campaign to ensure successful project.
  • Manage comprehensive feasibility studies, analysis, assessments and reviews to reveal the viability for the success of a campaign.
  • Develop the plan for aggressive direct marketing.
  • Raise philanthropic support by orchestrating and implementing complex and highly targeted identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and upgrade activity specifically for the identified campaign.
  • Through collaboration and campaign study research, assist with a dynamic portfolio of individual major donors, and prospects.
  • Manage TSA internal process for capital campaign approval and completion.
  • Serve as a trainer to officers, staff and advisory board members, providing fundraising and leadership expertise for capital campaigns.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualification and Education Requirements:

* A bachelor's degree with relevant advanced training or degree desired; Master's Degree and CFRE designation preferred

* Minimum five years relevant experience, including significant capital campaign experience.

* Ability to lead a team and proven track record of fundraising success.

* Demonstrated ability to set and achieve or exceed goals and meet deadlines.

* A high level of comfort with direct donor interaction, including discussions of personal and family finances and asking for money is a must.

* Demonstrated ability to work independently in a complex environment, managing multiple projects and conflicting priorities.

* Strong decision-maker with skillful approach that evaluates options, resources and outcomes in light of the strategic plan of the Division.

* A communications and management style that exhibits the principles and values of The Army, as well as fosters team relationships and effectively communicates information.

* Advanced understanding of resource development and familiarity with local and national funding sources

* Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills

* Willingness to travel as needed within the Empire Division

* A proficiency in Word and Excel, as well as experience with donor tracking and/or database software is preferred.

* A strong commitment to know and understand The Army's history, mission, and structure, as well as its services, policies and procedures.
