HDR is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer EIT/Coordinator to work as an integral part of the industrial and commercial facilities team in our Denver, Colorado office. The primary role of the Electrical Engineer EIT/Coordinator is to perform electrical engineering and design assignments under the guidance and mentorship of senior staff electrical engineers. Project assignments may include renewable energy systems, water/wastewater, mining, oil & gas, data center/mission-critical, and industrial and institutional campus facilities. Detailed electrical design is the primary focus of this position, with cross-training in Instrumentation & Controls/Automation.

This position includes support for new and retrofit electrical and instrumentation & control systems including preparation of electrical diagrams, cable and panel schedules, electrical site plans, facility electrical power and lighting plans, schematic control diagrams, and electrical equipment and materials specifications.

The EIT will be involved in performing detailed system calculations, drawing production, project specification editing, and will perform assignments using standard engineering techniques and procedures. The EIT may conduct field investigations and condition assessments, make construction observations, and assist in startup and commissioning of new and modified systems.

The EIT will participate in portions of the engineering work for a major project, or several smaller but complex projects within the specific discipline.

Project assignments are expected to be primarily in the Colorado/Rocky Mountain area, although assignment to projects located in other geographies is possible. Occasional short-term travel (typically 1-5 days) is necessary. Longer term (several weeks) assignments may be required infrequently on project assignments

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering required (ABET-accredited)
  • 0 years' experience is required.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently, and as a member of a multi-discipline consulting team on an engineering design project.
  • Must have good problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with a utility, an architectural/engineering consulting firm or with industrial facilities is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with some or all of the following is beneficial: electrical devices and circuits, control schematics, electrical diagrams, electrical systems theory.
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, and familiarity or willingness to learn industrial programming and electrical design software.
  • Candidates living near the Denver, Colorado area are preferred.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • Preference given to local candidates

The expected compensation range for this position is $72,369.00 - $97,911.00 annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
