Job Title: Shift Supervisor

FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Program Supervisor

Schedule: FT, TBD
Supervises: Shelter Staff

Rate of Pay: $23.10/hour

Closing Date: 1/21/2024

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Function:

The Crossroads Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Program Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the shelter and staff at Crossroads. The primary responsibility of this position is providing leadership and supervision to the staff, volunteers and clients during the evening and overnight, including training, safety, and policies and procedures. This individual will also be the representative and advocate for the shelter, and Salvation Army, at all assigned and appropriate community meetings and activities. The individual in this position will seek insights and understanding of the people we serve, to determine the needs we may address and to aid people in changing the pattern of their lives in order to function more effectively in society. This individual will fill in during evening shifts when management is on leave, which may include weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Shelter Program Supervisor in day-to-day operations of the shelter.
  2. Exercise initiative and judgement in approaching problems and creating realistic solutions in the shelter.
  3. Maintain on-going professional relationship in all interpersonal contacts (note confidentiality requirements).
  4. Assist the Crossroads Administration in planning and training for staff.
  5. Be knowledgeable in implementing the Bed agreement with staff and residents.
  6. Ensure that all Salvation Army policies are observed.
  7. Other duties as assigned. This description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the major responsibilities and requirements of this position. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

High School Diploma/GED required

Shelter experience required. Supervisory experience required. Must must have/obtain current certification in first aid and CPR skills or obtain them within six months of hire. Crisis intervention and non-violent mediation skills required. Must have a current Colorado Driver's License with the ability to be insured under The Salvation Army criteria
