Employee-owned HDR is currently seeking qualified individuals for our growing site civil team within the Water Business Group program in Denver, Colorado.

Our globally coordinated, locally delivered team is committed to improving the resiliency, sustainability, and safety of our communities. Our nation's dams, levees and water supply systems are being upgraded and rebuilt to adapt to a changing climate, provide more efficient renewable power and meet growing water needs. HDR is leading the way to solve our toughest water infrastructure problems.

We are seeking professionals with interest in the site civil field to join our growing team within the Colorado Water Business group. General fields of interest include site civil on water/wastewater treatment and conveyance systems, pipelines, dams/civil/levee/works, water resource management, risk informed decision making, project delivery support, and planning.

The primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

In the role of Site Civil EIT/Coordinator, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Assist in design and plan production for general civil on wide variety of projects, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities.
  • Assist project engineers in preparing specifications and contract documents.
  • Perform complex assignments exercising judgement in evaluation, selection and modification or standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Make decisions on design and engineering procedures as needed.
  • Assist project managers and project engineers in project delivery for water resources management, dams, levees, civil works and water supply management projects.
  • Prepare engineering design calculations.
  • Develop technical reports.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Opportunities will be available to travel to visit project sites during both design and construction.

Required qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other related field.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications in Civil Engineering such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, and ability to work both independently and with dynamic teams.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments successfully.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Preferred qualifications include:
  • Preference given to local candidates.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or other related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry experience.

The expected compensation range for this position is $66,759.00 - $90,321.00 annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
