Job Summary

The Therapy Case Worker ("Case Worker"), under general supervision provides emotional support and psychological first aid in the form of peer response as well as trauma- and resilience-informed training and education within Denver Health RESTORE. In service of the mission of promoting increased and sustained mental well-being of the health professional workforce as well as individual, collective and organizational resilience, may provide peer support within several service lines including the 24/7 peer support line, group support opportunities, mobile service delivery and a drop-in center for Denver Health personnel. The Therapy Case Worker facilitates trauma- and resilience-informed systems and workforce well-being education and training.

Essential Functions:

Pre-Clinical Peer Support Service Provision (50%):

  • Facilitates Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) groups. Staffs the RESTORE Support Center, a drop-in center for Denver Health personnel. Provides Psychological First Aid (PFA) across Denver Health RESTORE Peer Support service lines as needed. Identifies needs of distressed staff within peer support encounters and activations, referring to internal and external resources as appropriate.

Administration (25%):

  • Assists with development of preparedness and response plans for the Denver Health RESTORE program and its services. Supports RESTORE Support Center operations, including programming, infection control, supply stocking in service of workforce well-being and care. Collaborates with internal and external resources to support referral processes.

Training and Education (25%):

  • Assists with development of preparedness and response plans for the Denver Health RESTORE program and its services. Assists with development of training curriculum. Facilitates and delivers trauma-informed training and education.


Education:

  • Master's Degree Required


Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience working in mental health
  • 1-3 years experience in assessing psychological needs and providing psychological first aid as well as group support and relevant documentation.
  • Training/facilitation experience in a trauma informed setting - HIGHLY preferred

Licenses:

  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required a


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in assessing psychological needs and providing psychological first aid as well as group support and relevant documentation.
  • Knowledge of strategies for sustaining health care personnel well-being.
  • Skill in logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Skill in crisis response as it pertains to traumatic events, disaster, health-related pandemics and longstanding socioeconomic disparities.
  • Ability to utilize internal and external resources to assist with linkages to collaborative services
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality related to service provision and case details.
  • Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to respond to feedback and incorporate into practice.
  • Ability to implement new programs and practices effectively across the entire organization.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to facilitate trauma-informed care-related training.
  • Actively looking for ways to help people.
