Your Role: What you'll be doing

  • Job responsibilities include performing strength, fatigue, and fracture analysis for structural components
  • The candidate will be required to create analysis models, perform hand calculations, and have an understanding of analysis best practices to provide strength inputs and recommendations for new designs, installations, ground, and handling equipment.
  • Candidate will be required to review and approve 3-D engineering layouts, 3-D models, designs/drawings and 2-D drawing changes for a variety of mechanical system components.
  • The candidate will make engineering design recommendations with consideration of thermal, mechanical, and pressure loading using appropriate material properties, configurations, safety factors, etc.
  • Analysis results will be documented in strength reports. Additionally, the candidate will support internal peer reviews, tabletop reviews, and formal design reviews as needed. Will also need to support fast-paced design/analysis cycles and be able to evaluate hardware non-conformances to support production activities.
  • Candidate will participate in internal/external design reviews, and technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and may be expected to present analysis products at preliminary/critical design reviews (PDR/CDR).

Requires a bachelor's degree and 4 - 8 years of experience.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Fundamental knowledge of statics and mechanics of materials
  • Strong self-initiative
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of analysis tools and methodology such as:
    • NASTRAN (Static, Modal, Dynamic and Non-Linear Analysis Solutions)
    • FEMAP pre/post processor
  • Ability to make design recommendations based on analysis results
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential
  • General understanding of material properties
  • Experience analyzing structural components (machined primary/secondary structure)
  • Understanding of bolted joint modeling and analysis
  • Understanding of GD&T standards and principles
  • Understanding of analysis best practices and underlying assumptions
  • Understanding of basic hand calculations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead analysis teams

Summary Salary Range (Colorado Only)

$96,411 - $150,605

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
