The Director of Procurement that supports our Corporate business has responsibility for leading our worldwide procurement strategy, processes, and team.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive global procurement strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives.
    • Provide leadership in procurement processes, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving innovation and optimization in procurement methodologies.
    • Engages in acquisition integration to understand spend and supply chain strategies and drive immediate results.
  • Materials Expertise:
    • Ownership of materials strategy that maximizes OTD while driving working capital improvements through reduced inventory and improved payment terms.
    • Strong partnership with operations leaders to establish strong process for made assemblies and Finished Goods inventories.
    • Leverage a deep understanding of materials management principles, including the implementation and optimization of Kanban systems, safety stock management, and re-order point strategies.
    • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of robust inventory control measures to ensure timely availability of materials for production needs.
  • Global Procurement Process Optimization:
    • Streamline procurement workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs without compromising quality.
    • Implement best practices in procurement processes across diverse manufacturing environments, employing Lean techniques to reduce lead times, eliminate non-value-added activities, and enhance overall process efficiency.
  • Commodity Management and Supply Base Consolidation:
    • Lead efforts in commodity management, working closely with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and long-term agreements.
    • Drive initiatives for supply base consolidation, optimizing vendor relationships to improve efficiency, reduce risks, and achieve cost savings.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management:
    • Negotiate and manage master supply agreements, ensuring that contractual terms are favorable and aligned with the company's strategic goals.
    • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to develop and maintain robust contract management processes.
  • Team Leadership
    • Champions the Mesa Way for not only Procurement, but is a role model across Mesa
    • Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing procurement team capable of executing strategic initiatives.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning, skill development, and knowledge sharing among team members.
    • Implement effective performance management practices, providing regular feedback, coaching, and mentoring to nurture individual and team growth.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Director or in a senior procurement leadership role on a global scale.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials management, inventory reductions, payment term improvements, Kanban systems, safety stock, and re-order point strategies.
  • Strong background in commodity management, master supply agreements, and successful supply base consolidation initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen to understand business needs for cash flow, working capital, and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and drive a high-performing global procurement team.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP and MRP systems such as NetSuite is MUST
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree with 15+ years of industry experience.
  • 7 - 10 years of years of successful leadership experience in relevant industry.

Compensation/Benefits:

The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and compensation for this position. The package includes base salary, bonus, equity, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k/Match.

Salary Range for this position is $154,596 - $206,730.
