ABOUT THE JOB

Tepa Companies is seeking a Environmental GIS Analyst to work alongside Senior Scientists, Project Managers, and Technical Experts on various activities in support of diverse environmental assessment and data management projects. As an Environmental GIS Analyst, you will contribute to geospatial and data sciences for our environmental investigation and restoration programs, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and other emerging contaminants. You will also provide GIS support for environmental investigation and restoration projects, direct client support, environmental data management in relational databases, data reporting, python programming, manage project web-map dashboards, provide technical review and apply quality assurance and quality control checks, data analysis and programmatic data queries, and the development and execution of automated production workflows.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supports environmental investigation projects through GIS technical support and environmental data management.
  • Develop technical GIS figures displaying environmental investigation results and site characterization.
  • Supports environmental data management processes, including data acquisition, data tracking, data evaluation and technical analysis, quality assurance review, data gap analysis, and complex data reporting.
  • Utilize Python or other programming language for high-level data tools supporting large environmental databases.
  • Supports project web-map dashboards with data management, query, reporting, and geo-visualization tools.
  • Conduct research, data mining, and analysis from disparate data sources, evaluate, and incorporate into environmental databases.
  • Provide geospatial analysis supporting hydrogeologic investigations, including conceptual site models, PFAS groundwater contaminant migration pathway analysis, and drinking water receptor studies.
  • Develop technical fact sheets, briefings, and programmatic status reports.
  • Review investigation reports for assessing geospatial and technical data accuracy.
  • Developing visual, graphical, and tabular summaries of environmental data and trend analysis.
  • Develop and modify automated data and visualization production workflows.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS), Environmental Sciences, Data Analytics, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an environmental GIS professional with programming and database management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with federal/state environmental regulatory programs, Air Force Environmental Restoration Program and remediation activities, CERCLA, and/or RCRA.
  • Preferred experience with PFAS environmental investigations, including environmental GIS datasets and data management.
  • Demonstrated GIS experience in ESRI ArcPro with environmental investigations and environmental analytical data
  • Experience working for federal clients including Department of Defense
  • Experience compiling, analyzing, and reporting on environmental data from a variety of sources including investigation reports, field observation, environmental sampling results, tabular data, databases, and other existing reports and figures
  • Programming experience utilizing Python or other script language
  • Experience utilizing SQL or other relational database software
