As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you'll guide the development and support of our Enterprise Architecture deliverables. This includes supporting Enterprise Architecture initiatives of the highest priority and complexity and the current and future state blueprints across business, data, applications, and infrastructure architecture layers. You'll coordinate activities with leadership, architects, SMEs, and the Enterprise PMO, support architecture governance to ensure alignment of IT products/projects with Enterprise Architecture standards, blueprints, and roadmaps, and reduce costs and risks by reducing duplication and redundancy across capabilities.

Your duties will also include developing reference architectures and guidelines for technology adoption and implementation (i.e. cloud migration, application modernization, ERP integration etc.), creating enterprise patterns, models, designs, standards, and monitoring and identifying leading technology trends. Additionally, you'll facilitate coordination with business area leadership & architects, SMEs, IT leadership, and the Enterprise PMO to build support, staying current on business and IT strategy as it applies to Sierra Space.

Sierra Space-based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL-designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations.

The Principal Enterprise Solution Architect will be part of a team responsible for seamless IT operations. You will focus on the impact of proposed changes to the environment driven by various application development, application support and upgrades, systems administration, network administration, and other change agents. This person will also lead the critical incident process and will be responsible for creating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action Reports (CAR). They will need to have a strong understanding of IT practices and terminology in order to be knowledgeable enough to understand when to raise questions in order to correctly steer the project to completion.

The Principal Enterprise Solution Architect will work with the other Architects to ensure solutions align to Enterprise Architecture strategies, standards, and patterns across business, data, applications, and infrastructure architecture layers. He/she facilitates coordination with business area leadership, architects, and SMEs within the assigned business organizations, as well as IT leadership, and the respective PMO to build support. He/she also acts as a consultant on a wide array of business, information, and technical solutions to drive business outcomes. The Solution Architects stays current on applicable technologies as well as business, EA, and IT strategies.

Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, Kennedy Space Center, Florida, New York, NY, and Washington DC, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 14 or more years of relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Extensive experience working in highly technical environments.

  • Extensive experience providing actionable enterprise solutions, documenting architecture, capability planning, and alignment of IT to corporate and BU strategy

  • Strong experience with drafting reference architecture

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required


Preferred:

  • Experience in Agile development methodology and processes

  • Experience in architecting enterprise Infrastructure and Application systems such as Network, SAAS, IAAS, PLM, MES, CRM, and ERP

  • "Hands-on" expertise and knowledge to deliver action architecture plans.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$183,344.68 - $275,017.02

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
