This People Services (PS) position is an integral member of the Teammate (Employee) Relations team for assigned segments of DaVita's business, providing subject matter expertise in teammate relations and investigations. This position is responsible for working directly on teammate issues to resolve matters of significance on behalf of management, including investigating and responding to internal and external complaints, and handling other complex, high-risk, or sensitive Teammate Relations (TMR) matters. This position partners closely with operations, field people services, legal, compliance,and Teammate Relations Advisors.

Essential Duties:

  • Investigate and respond to internal and external complaints related to teammate compensation and wage and hour laws
  • Review, analyze, and synthesize teammate compensation and time clock data to form supportable conclusions
  • Handle other complex, high-risk, or sensitive TMR matters exercising discretion, and using independent judgment to determine outcomes and appropriate corrective action
  • Provide training, consultation, guidance and coaching to supervisors, managers, and PS Managers (PSMs) regarding teammate compensation and wage and hour laws
  • Provide guidance and assist with the development and delivery of appropriate feedback orcorrective/disciplinaryactions
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the laws and policies including federal and state wage and hour laws with a strong focus on California wage and hour laws
  • Partner with field PS onanas-needed basis, keeping field PS and the business appropriately informed and involved during investigations and other TMRwork
  • Partner with legal team to prepare strategy and responses to EEOC, OFCCP, and other governmental charges and requests as well as threatened litigation; participate as needed with litigation
  • Provide guidance and assist with delivery of Performance Improvement Plans or othercorrective/disciplinaryactions for complex cases
  • Maintain required documentation within case management system, including intake, investigative notes, supporting documents, and final reports
  • Performing special assignments or projects, including developing best practices for remediating complaints regarding teammate compensation and wage and hour laws.
  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 10%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Masters or JD preferred.
  • 4-6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to identify and define problems as well as develop and recommend fact-based solutions.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive investigative reports and present ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, as well as review the work of operational leadership, partner organizations, TMR Advisors and People Services Investigators and provide appropriate conclusions and feedback.
  • Ability to research and analyze information, including compensation and time card data, to arrive at valid conclusions, action plans, and recommendations when appropriate.
  • Solid working knowledge of PS/HR policies and procedures, state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality as required; demonstrates sound business and professional ethics.
  • Must have strong problem-solving, data analysis, and organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Large, multi-site company experience.
  • Subject matter expert in FLSA or other wage and hour laws.

Salary/ Wage Range

$75,200.00-$110,400.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
