• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a two-year college program with emphasis on imaging modalities or other associated medical program; American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registration required.
• Experience: One year of relevant experience preferred. New graduates and Adult Cardiac Sonographers are encouraged to apply.
• Certification(s):
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); or
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
  • Pediatric Registry required within one year upon hire;
  • Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) through ARDMS or
  • Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through CCI
  • BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire

• Performs clinical echocardiographic (echo) studies, newborns to adults, for congenital heart disease with a moderate degree of difficulty or complexity requiring knowledge of hemodynamics, physiology, and congenital heart disease.
• Completes echocardiography studies strictly following departmental sequence and protocol.
• Completes Doppler studies and obtains appropriate color flow and spectral analysis Doppler data including advanced analysis of hemodynamics.
• Prepares accurate preliminary summaries of the echocardiography findings for cardiologist interpretation providing documentation of observed echo findings; reviews completed studies with cardiologist
• Maintains clean and safe practices, procedures, equipment, and workspace in order to contribute to a healthy patient care environment.
• Performs routine transthoracic echocardiograms on pediatric patients in the network of care and regional sites as needed; and assists with scheduling conflicts, changes, cancellations and workflow issues.
