Job Title: Warehouse Instructor

FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Employment Pathways Manager

Schedule: FT, TBD
Supervises: N/A

Closing Date: 2/24/2024

Rate of Pay: $27.00/hour

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

This position is based out of our Warehouse at:

Aurora, CO 80010, USA

Function: The Warehouse Trainer/Instructor supports the workforce development and job training initiative within the Denver Metro Social Services department of The Salvation Army. The position works closely with the Employment Pathways Manager to design and implement a job training program in the Salvation Army Warehouse. This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating training for program participants and TSA volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

TSA Workforce Development Program /Job Training

  • Manage incoming referrals for internal training program, schedule follow-up and confirm attendance for upcoming sessions.
  • Provides warehouse skills training in the following categories: warehouse safety and logistics, forklift, hazard communications, inventory and fulfillment, warehouse cleanliness and maintenance, fleet transportation and delivery, facilitates completion of OSHA-10 online training and Forklift Operator Certification.
  • Facilitates testing/assessment of program participants.
  • Manages receipt and storage of training certifications.
  • Job coaching for warehouse specific employment.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide a high level of customer service to program participants.
  • Order safety supplies for training participants including steel toe boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings across teams to discuss recruitment and participant progress.
  • Manage data entry in monitoring system to track attendance, hours spent in training, services provided, and store certifications.
  • Maintain high quality record keeping and reporting including statistics, outcome measures and end of month reporting.
  • Prepare reports regarding enrollment, completion, certification, etc. for donors, agency, and other interested parties by request of supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualification and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift operation certified (past or current).
  • Forklift teaching certification or able to complete within 30 days of hire.
  • Management and training experience.
  • Experience with warehouse operations including safety and cleanliness, logistics, hazard communications, inventory, and fulfillment systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Experience with daily data entry and reporting.
  • Deadline oriented with strong ability to follow through on tasks with little supervision.
  • Flexible team player with a commitment to personal and professional accountability.
  • Successfully pass background check
  • Valid CO driver's license and ability to pass The Salvation Army driving requirements.
