Job Summary

Under general supervision, perform preventative maintenance programs and schedules in addition to the emergency repair and maintenance work orders. The ultimate goal of this position is to keep facility and surrounding campus in operating order. Will be assigned duties based on primary geographical location.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform a variety of routine and emergency repairs and preventative maintenance to hospital buildings, community clinics, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds, keeping all areas in proper condition as directed (20%)
  • Electrical: Remove and replace duplex outlets and switches. Maintain and service lighting, bulbs and ballasts (20%)
  • Plumbing: Service of plumbing fixtures, faucets, toilets and drains (20%)
  • Basic carpentry: Hang shelves, fix doors and locks, drawers, cut and install ceiling tiles, etc. (20%)
  • Provide general assistance to skilled tradesmen such as mechanics, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, painters, etc, as directed (20%)


Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required


Work Experience:

  • 3 years experience in one or more of the following required: maintenance, carpentry, plumbers, etc. Required


Licenses:

  • DLR-Colorado Driver's License Class R - DMV - Department of Motor Vehicles Required


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of all hand tools, equipment and machinery required to perform the jobs/tasks of a maintenance technician.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills that promote positive relations in dealing with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, changing and sometimes stressful environment where you must be flexible and learn quickly
  • Organizational skills, ability to manage multiple and often changing priorities
  • Knowledge and proper use of Infection/Dust Control and Intern life Safety Measures (ILSM)
