Job Summary

The Biostatistician Supervisor is a key member of the Rocky Mountain Poison & Drug Safety's Research & Consulting Division and has a shared accountability for the success of the Rocky Mountain Poison & Drug Safety's Research & Consulting Division. The Biostatistician Supervisor manages and is accountable for a team of biostatisticians, designs and implements statistical analysis plans for pharmaceutical company and regulatory client contractual obligations. This includes but is not limited to consulting with internal/external partners and clients, designing data collecting, leading multiple teams in the research department, and ensuring the accuracy of results. The Biostatistician Supervisor contributes to the design and development of statistical/epidemiological methods. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Functions:
  • Serves as direct supervisor for Biostatisticians including assigning work, monitoring performance, developing staff, and building teams. (40%)
  • Selects, applies, and validates intermediate to advanced statistical and/or epidemiological methods using SAS/R program code according to a statistical analysis plan fulfilling regulatory agency requirements and/or specified client requirements. (20%)
  • Manages advanced projects which entails directing biostatistical and/or data analyst team, planning, manages implementation of statistical analyses, collaborating across various internal teams to ensure timely delivery and contractual obligations. (10%)
  • Provides leadership and guidance to one or more research team in the department surrounding novel initiatives, data quality, conclusions, and business/scientific strategy. (10%)
  • Prepares the writing of scientific protocols, statistical analysis plans (SAPs), and regulatory responses with external guidance or support. (5%)
  • Actively participates with leadership teams to foster cultural, strategic, and business initiatives. (5%)
  • Provides scientific writings for technical reports in sections such as but not limited to executive summaries, methods, results, and conclusions for numerous clients including regulatory agencies, pharmaceutical companies, etc. (5%)
  • Supports consultation with clients and outside contacts. (5%)

Education:
  • Master's Degree Required degree concentration: Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or other scientific, health, medical, or social sciences field with a concentration in Statistics. Required

Work Experience:
  • 4-6 years 6 years relevant work experience Required

Licenses:

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Expert in one of the major statistical software packages SAS or R
    • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
