Job Description
  1. Oversee a team of estimators as their line manager. Provide leadership and technical guidance to other estimators in the associate consultant, consultant, and senior consultant roles.
  2. Manage resources efficiently and balance the needs of stakeholders carefully in decision-making, including internal and external factors for success.
  3. Guide and mentor young professionals while promoting teamwork, mutual support, and trust within the team.
  4. Build business capability by anticipating future challenges and opportunities for clients, and implementing new estimating services that align with changes to the best standards held within the industry
  5. Create business opportunity through business development, key client development, and opportunity tracking within the region utilizing local knowledge and expertise of estimating needs, clients, and development.
  6. Lead the effort to win new work by leading bids for estimating scopes of work, presenting to potential clients, and share best practice to foster a learning environment.
  7. Provide reporting on key-performance-indicators to assess the performance of the organization and the team against a set of metrics determined by industry standards. Develop reporting dashboards, populate reports, and present reports to pertinent groups, including client executives an internal leadership.
  8. Provide estimating advice, guidance, and analysis and present formal estimating reports for project estimates including quantity, cost, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications to project stakeholders;
  9. Advise the project team on project impacts due to local guidelines/ standards and market price fluctuations;
  10. Develop cost plans and estimates from concept through to detailed design including assessing local conditions and provide rate breakdowns (material, labor, plant, and productivity);
  11. Produce feasibility studies and advise on Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and civil cost implications for multiple design options;
  12. Conduct value engineering and cost optimization initiatives;
  13. Provide contract change management support by creating independent cost and fee estimates for each change event experienced by a project, and negotiate the value with the contractor/consultant assigned to the project to ensure fair market pricing for all changes post-award;
  14. Prepare and advise the project team on global detailed cost analysis for aviation subjects inclusive of MEP, structural, and civil estimating that includes local conditions/ standards, and rate breakdowns (material, labor, plant, and productivity); and
  15. Prepare market reports for multiple design elements.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 7 years of experience in the job offered or 7 years of experience as a Estimator or any other job title performing the following job duties:
  1. Developing cost plans and estimates from concept through to detailed design including assessing local conditions and providing rate breakdowns (material, labor, plant, and productivity);
  2. Conducting value engineering and cost optimization initiatives;
  3. Providing contract change management support by creating independent cost and fee estimates for each change event experienced by a project, and negotiating the value with the contractor/consultant assigned to the project to ensure fair market pricing for all changes post-award.
  4. Ensuring budget/cost estimates accurately reflect the scope of work and include material prices, market studies, location conditions, and impacts driven by lead times, inflation, issues relating to supply/demand and labor availability.
  5. Applying common construction industry knowledge, concepts, and procedures with cost implications for multiple design options.
  6. Producing budget/cost estimate reports including labor conditions/standards and rate breakdowns to assist senior management make informed decisions on construction projects.
  7. Preparing market reports by applying researched and accurate unit costs and productivity rates.
