Job Title: Machine Shop Production Supervisor - 2nd shift

Position Description

The Production Supervisor oversees the machine shop/assembly and test staff, planning, equipment, and processes on the production floor. The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the product is machined/assembled and prepared for the next stage of production to support the business metrics.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with EH&S to ensure safety culture is maintained; serve as first point of contact during EH&S events
  • Manage machinists, operators, and assembly technicians; working closely with manufacturing engineering and planning to appropriately achieve results
  • Manage off shift teams, supporting 24 hour/day production
  • Assist/support data collection to drive increased OEE, productivity, and reduced COPQ
  • Coordinate with process owners to create/update standard work per ISO requirements
  • Drive on time delivery results
  • Maintain TPMs, complete monthly safety self-inspections, and enforce 6S procedures
  • Accomplish manufacturing targets by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Create shift handoff report to communicate safety, quality, staffing, equipment, and production issues and accomplishments
  • Participate in recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities
  • Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
  • Execute production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by escalating maintenance issues
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action

Skills & Abilities

Required

  • Supervision or Team Lead/Mentoring experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, and provide direction for others
  • Ability to gain forklift/material handling certification

Preferred

  • Knowledge of machining methods and equipment capabilities
  • Continuous Improvement Experience
  • Knowledge of ERP system
  • Production Planning
  • Communication and conflict resolution experience

Qualifications

  • 5+ Years experience in Manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred
  • LEAN 6 Sigma experience preferred
  • APICS certification preferred

Physical requirements

This job requires a mix of work in an office and factory setting.

Indoor factory environment; sitting, standing, and walking are common.

Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted.

Compensation Details

Annual Salary: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00

Additional Compensation

The Salary offered will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and will be compared with internal equity along with market data for this position. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus through the company bonus program. This position may also be eligible to receive a Relocation bonus, payable as a taxable lump sum, in accordance with the Sundyne Relocation Policy.
