Overview

In this position, you will support energy customers as a trusted advisor and help them define and implement geospatial business solutions. This will be accomplished by evaluating and translating customer requirements, business goals, objectives, and strategies into solutions and coordinating support through collaboration with cross-functional Esri teams.

This position is on a team that supports Commercial Natural Resources customers within Professional Services. The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation side of Esri. We break ground in new markets, push the technology envelope, and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high-profile customers worldwide. The Professional Services organization is comprised of nearly 1,000 talented business and technical professionals who strive every day to help our users be successful.

Responsibilities

  • Thought leadership: Advise customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to help customers make better decisions and solve business problems. Recommend relevant strategies, architectures, solutions, and work with customers to prepare and implement them.
  • Understand our customers and know their business: Help foster a sense of community among our customers. Be familiar with our users' overall mission and operations, including knowledge of common goals and initiatives, procurement cycles, and business processes.
  • Engage with our customers: Help them discover the value of location and geospatial analysis within their existing, planned, and future workflows, and drive substantial return on their investment in our platform and services by creating outstanding proposals and winning work with strategic customers.
  • Develop and grow business: Provide business development support toward technology and implementation patterns with new and existing customers. Collaborate with Esri's Industry Practice Managers and Marketing and Sales teams to help develop new business and be part of actively shaping the future of the industry practices at Esri through your work on cutting-edge projects and technology trends such as real-time GIS, big data analytics, geoanalytics, 3D, and digital twins.
  • Effectively manage complex technology projects and programs: Use your consulting and project management skills to build and lead virtual teams during all implementation phases including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deployment. Manage and communicate scope, schedule, and budget to provide our customers and strategic partners with meaningful solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a similar position, supporting similar responsibilities
  • Professional experience with a proven record of technology and/or business management consulting in an energy-related field such as petroleum, pipeline, or renewables
  • Strong project coordination skills with the ability to deliver complex engagements on time and within budget
  • Experience creating partnerships and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor with customers
  • Experience scoping and designing work plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, cross-functional, and matrixed team environments
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem solver, team-oriented, and creative
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to technical peers, non-technical staff, or customers
  • Excellent written communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to consult and engage with senior-level leadership
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally
  • Bachelor's in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geography, or a related STEM field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Master's in geography, GIS, information systems, or a related field
  • Experience with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, spatial analytics, or similar geospatial technology
  • Experience developing, leading, and executing professional services or consulting engagements with geospatial software or solutions
  • Understanding of IT integration concepts such as databases, web services, webhooks, mobile device configurations, web browsers, and IT system architecture concepts

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$74,880$150,280 USD
