Maintenance: Supervises and coordinates activities of Team Members and Contractors engaged in maintaining Production, Logistics and Facility equipment. Develops and maintains a budget for area of responsibility.

Quality: Responsible for oversight of Shop Floor Quality through the development and implementation of Quality Control Programs.

This position has direct supervision of department staff in the assigned area and is also responsible for systems controlling product quality along with identification and resolution of non-conformances.

This position has supervisor responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance: Level of supervision of role ("works with clear instructions", "under general supervision" "manages/supervises team", etc.)
  • Knowledge sharing - this role acts as a subject matter expert, follow standard guidelines, create and develop or implement policy and procedures; distinguish among application of basic vs. advanced/complex skills; follow clear standards or perform root cause analysis; adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet complex requirements of the position
  • Duties and tasks - routine or non-routine; variety and complexity; innovation required to address issues and problem solving; level of specialization, if professional role; activities that directly affect organizational business-at local, regional, global level
  • Communication - breadth of internal (and external, if any) communication (interacts with customers, public, limited among team members, within business unit, among stakeholders or across functions)
  • Leadership - Project, process; team (resource vs.mentor/coach to others). If supervisor, level of training and development to be provided, staffing, work schedule planning, setting and adhering to goals.
  • Financial impact - Level examples: No direct impact to budget; adhere to budget or plan, develop and maintain budget
  • Decision-making - Restricted v. Latitude for reviewed or unreviewed actions or decisions; risk taking; influencing factor for change
  • "Other tasks as assigned" to allow for periodic (non-regular) or special projects that do not impact main functions of role
  • Quality: Develop, implement and maintain quality systems and standards required to ensure that product engineering specifications are met along with customer requirements.
  • Oversee the quality data collection system (QDA) ensuring that the system is utilized as planned and maintain the system for new and revised products.
  • Manage non-conforming product control systems by coordinating disposition of issues and tracking status.
  • Provide direct supervision to Quality Department Staff assigned to quality inspections and project execution with staff members.
  • Develop staff goals and monitor performance.
  • Investigate product non-conformances and take action to resolve and prevent issues.
  • Coordinate development of product quality control systems for new or revised products including interface with customers as required.
  • Devises sampling procedures and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • College Education / Degree in related field preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams with a high degree of adaptability & flexibility
  • Strong desire to learn new skills & knowledge
  • Excellent work ethic, dependability & dedication to team & company, personal desire & value to produce quality work
  • System skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, ERP / MRP systems, CRM database, etc.
  • Basic and applied knowledge of Lean/5S concepts
  • Understanding basic production work instructions
  • Analytical skills including troubleshooting, root cause analysis & problem-solving
  • Conflict resolution and effective verbal & written communication skills, executed with respect, care, and concern for colleagues.
  • Minimum travel may be required.
  • Experience with Technical Drawings and Quality Sampling Inspection Methodologies
  • Budget accountability
  • Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information & gauge its importance when making decisions
  • Collaborative and effective team player & able to work with teams who may be global
