Primary purpose:

The Drilling and Completions Field Superintendent has an essential role overseeing drilling, completion, and workover operations for various operational phases. This position involves a range of responsibilities to ensure safe and efficient execution of well-related activities. Here are the key aspects of the role:


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Oversight:
  1. Represent the company in all drilling, completions, and workover-related activities, from initial drilling to well completion.
  2. Conduct morning calls and review reports from the field with the office engineering team.
  3. Oversee company representatives at various field operational activities.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize operations and eliminate potential issues.
  1. Cost Management:
  1. Monitor daily operational expenditures to achieve cost-effective wells.
  2. Manage all field logistics and supplier partners.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  1. Ensure wells are drilled and completed in alignment with reservoir, production, and geological objectives.
  2. Implement company well control policies throughout all operational activities.
  3. Promote health, safety, and environmental (HSE) training and adherence to procedures.
  4. Attend safety meetings in the field.
  1. Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Understanding of conventional and explorational drilling and completion operations, including coring and logging.
  2. Experience working on CO2 projects.
  3. Knowledge of CARB LCFS (California Air Resources Board Low Carbon Fuel Standard) and EPA Class VI requirements.

Minimum requirements:



Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years experience in drilling, completions, and workovers field supervisory experience.

OR

  • High School Degree
  • 15+ years experience in drilling, completions, and workover field supervisory experience.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must have valid Supervisors Well Control Certification.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Predominantly office environment, some travel to field operations or other Company offices.


Working Conditions:

  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
  • Primarily working in an office environment, with well site operations and travel as needed.
  • Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays as needed.
