Your Role

The Salesforce Platform & Operations Team is focused on optimizing Salesforce solutions and maximizing value across the enterprise. Salesforce is an enterprise platform targeted to help accelerate our transformation program, enable innovation, and help realize our vision for a reimagined healthcare system. Our team works cross-functionally to link our key business strategies and initiatives with our platform roadmap and day-to-day operations. We are responsible for driving critical business and vendor alignment, defining and executing the enterprise product roadmap, and maintaining operational excellence.

The Principal Salesforce Solution Architect, reporting to the Salesforce Platform & Operations - Director, will work as part of the team dedicated to ensuring that BSC's Salesforce solution is maximizing efficiency and capitalizing on the full features and benefits of Salesforce on the various user group needs. The Solution Architect role will have extensive experience designing, building and implementing enterprise features in Salesforce. They will be instrumental in helping guide our Salesforce strategy, building our most challenging end to end solutions, and implementing integration and development frameworks to provide enablement, adoption, and technical expertise which accelerate our business. The Salesforce Solution Architect will work using an agile mindset in a fast-paced, work environment.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Liaise between IT and business operations to ensure alignment in developing and implementing technical solutions for business needs
  • Lead design and solution workshops, review and decision making
  • Continuously identify opportunities and execute process improvements
  • Prepare and document design principals, best practice, requirements, architecture design, etc.
  • Work with business, IT and vendor delivery teams to develop and deploy scalable software and services across the organization
  • Communicate and consult with end users and stakeholders to understand objectives, share platform capabilities, and architect appropriate solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of current platform capabilities and vendor roadmap
  • Stay current with technological developments within the Salesforce platform, monitoring and planning for the organization to utilize new release functionality as it becomes available
  • Promote, and lead by example, a DevOps culture where the team is expected and empowered to own each aspect of the development, promotion, and operation of their code
  • Influence business and technology leaders on creating and promoting change for improving existing business processes, increasing ROI and overall effectiveness using Salesforce and its plugins
  • Be responsible for solution governance, managing technical debt, and ensuring high reuse of common features
  • Develop and execute Salesforce data management strategy
  • Pursue and maintain professional certification for key technologies and domain capabilities

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of Salesforce experience; integrating, configuring and ability to write custom apex code is a plus
  • Salesforce certifications as Administrator and Platform Developer and/or an architect track certification is desired
  • Experience in building complex Salesforce solution designs and reviewing/enhancing solution designs from other SFDC delivery teammates; including a working knowledge of Salesforce platform limits, order of execution, data storage impacts, and sharing and visibility
  • Experience with Sales and Service Cloud required; desired experience with CPQ, Salesforce Industries, Communities, and Health Cloud
  • Experience in bringing Salesforce solutions from design to implementation
  • Critical thinking skills; ability to spot gaps, challenge assumptions, push back and offer best-practice alternatives to ideas
  • Knowledge of what can and should be done with configuration vs. code and adheres to a "configuration before code" mindset to minimize cost and complexity and maximize maintainability for clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively deliver messages to a wide range of audiences - from executive to technical
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver results working independently

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 145200.00 to $ 217800.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
