PURPOSE

At BFS, the Category Replenishment Specialist manages inventories with attention to detail. This individual is primarily responsible for consistently procuring product categories with efficiency and accuracy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works independently to determine inventory levels and needs for assigned Products and locations.
  • Review all confirmations updating pricing and ship date as needed.
  • Inform Sourcing Manager of replacement cost issues as needed to avoid A/P variances.
  • Review system for backorder PO's and any Stock PO's that may be late to avoid stock outs.
  • Seek out suppliers with Category Manager's guidance when the primary supplier is out of stock.
  • Assist in moving overstock or obsolete inventory at location.
  • Suggest and enter transfer and arrange for the movement of inventory. .
  • Independently maintain product item file including stock status, safety stock, lead time, usage adjustments and standard packs.
  • Communicate with location contact regarding business levels, upcoming jobs, unusual usages.
  • Works with Category Manager to improve locations turns and profitability
  • Work with Sourcing Manger with VMI programs.
  • Works with Vendor and location to control product allocations
  • Gain product knowledge from vendor meetings, catalogs and mill tours when possible.
  • Can be asked to serve as an Inventory Auditor twice a year.
  • Other duties / special projects that may need to be assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 years of experience in an operational staff position

COMPETENCIES

  • Interpersonal communication, writing skills, and highly organized.
  • Microsoft Office and current system procurement procedures. (Trend / Online)
  • Self-motivated

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company's active bonus policy for the respective year.
