Mead & Hunt is currently seeking a Senior Supervisor Transportation Lead to support our Transportation Planning Business Unit in Colorado.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Mead & Hunt is a nationally recognized employee-owned AE company with a diverse transportation client base including municipal, county, regional, state, federal, higher ed and rec and parks contracts throughout the nation. We are seeking a seasoned and ambitious industry leader with interest in the planning and design of roadway/ intersection/ interchange, bridge, bus and rail transit, trails, traffic controls, parking, and airport projects. The successful candidate will need to fully leverage local/ regional/ state contacts and contracts to expand Mead & Hunt's services, workload, and support staff within Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region.
Technical Duties
- Manage projects and/or provide technical supervisory oversight including scopes, schedules, deliverables
- Assist with reviewing documents including QC/QA, value engineering, constructibility
- Assist with preparing grant funding applications and support clients with management reporting
- Prepare technical reports and presentations documenting analysis methodology and results
- Represent company at technical meetings, working groups and public meetings
- Maintain personal licenses, memberships, registrations, and review/seal documents as required/requested
Management Duties:
- Work with the Business Unit Leader on evaluating opportunities for pursuits, determining positions/ teaming, Go-No-Go, etc.
- Lead project pursuit/ proposal efforts including advanced teaming, project intelligence, marketing materials, technical approaches and partnering with other consultants/ subs, internal cross-marketing
- Develop new tasks through leveraging existing contract backlog, including placing staff on-site
- Supervise junior and mid level planning/ engineering and support staff including workload and technical deliverables
- Monitor and address staff performance
- Interact and meet with clients independently to discuss project scope, deliverables, schedule, budget, etc.
- Identify potential new markets and service lines
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, and presentations
- Prepare contract/task scopes, budgets, and/or schedules as needed.
- Manage contract/ project financials including invoices, progress reports, aged receivables
- Recruit, build, lead and retain technical staff teams to support new workload and complex projects
Minimum Education, Skills, Certifications and Competencies required:
- 3 years of relevant experience in consulting business relevant experience in consulting business
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET-Accredited University in Civil Engineering
- Valid driver's license
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following experience:
- P.E. License
- Minimum of 18 years of progressive transportation planning and engineering experience in Colorado
- Roadway/ highway / intersection / bridge project planning, analysis and design, including alternatives analysis, including alignments and cross-sections, type/ size/ location, ADA, drainage, environmental and technical documentation
- Multi-modal project planning, analysis and design including sidewalks, bike lanes, and trails
- Bus and rail transit systems project planning, analysis and design including fixed guideways and stations
- Experience and relationships with communities throughout Colorado and working knowledge of regional State DOT's
- Freight (rail and truck) / intermodal project planning and design
- Development of GIS, CADD and traffic data
- Construction cost estimates and specifications
- Traffic data analysis for projects including compiling, and evaluating multiple data sets for use in transportation/traffic software programs
- Familiarity with ITE, MUTCD, FRA, MSHA, FTA, ADA, AASHTO and CDOT guidelines and practices
- Proven record of winning contracts and developing clients
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Knowledge of traffic analysis and transportation design programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay range: $160,000-$205,000 depending on experience
