Zayo is seeking a Government Security Managerwith extensive experience working directly with the US Federal Government, including the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community, alongside proficiency in communications infrastructure.

The ideal candidate for our Government Security Manager should possess a strong understanding of Federal contracting processes, maintain relationships within the Federal Technology ecosystem, and hold or be able to obtain a US Government clearance. Responsibilities include overseeing compliance with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP, managing security risks, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring team members are trained and updated on security protocols. Exceptional customer service, leadership, and organizational skills are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for government-related security matters.

  • Oversee the implementation of NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP requirements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government customers.

  • Resolve complex security issues as a subject matter expert.

  • Provide recommendations on governmental security risks.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to government security.

  • Ensure adherence to Federal contracting processes and compliance standards.

  • Manage the process of obtaining and maintaining US Government clearances for relevant team members.

  • Communicate security strategies and updates effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Facilitate ongoing training and development programs for security team members.

  • Ensure the team remains updated on the latest security protocols and best practices.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks associated with government projects.

  • Cultivate and expand existing relationships within the Federal Technology ecosystem.

  • Lead and coordinate the response to security incidents involving government customers.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to government security policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance documentation is readily available for audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in the security space.

  • 5+ years working directly with the US Federal Government.

  • 5+ years of experience working with the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.

  • 3+ years of experience within the communications infrastructure space.

  • Strong understanding of Federal contracting processes.

  • Existing understanding of and relationships within the Federal Technology ecosystem.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance.

  • Demonstrated success and consistency in achieving compliance.

  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and managing security risks associated with government projects.

  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.

  • Thorough understanding of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FARS, DFARS.

  • Effective problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft and Google Suites of Products.

Base pay range: $136,900 - $155,000, commensurate with experience.
