The Service Writer for the Mobile Service Department is responsible for speaking with customers, listening to their concerns about their vehicle, suggesting repair and maintenance services, selling new accessories or replacement parts, and keeping the customer informed of the repair services progress.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answer incoming phone calls to ensure all calls are answered within three rings.
Provide timely updates to clients regarding work being performed.
Listen to the customer description of the problems or services needed.
Obtaining truck/unit information over the phone along with detailed information for what the customer is experiencing and what the mobile technician will be looking at.
Determine the type of service required and schedule the work with a technician.
Inform clients of dispatching schedule and estimated time for completion.
Engage in upsells and promotions for additional equipment and services.
Obtain customer authorization for repairs.
Create repair orders by identifying current vehicle condition, estimated repair time, and getting quotes/estimates from the technicians if necessary.
Invoice repair orders and prepare any portion of the repair order for warranty submission as required.
Review work performed with client and ensure that secured payment is made prior to releasing serviced vehicles.
Monitor and report on Work In Progress (WIP).
Book appointments and fill the Mobile Service schedule via inbound and outbound calls and emails.
Additional duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending, or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer.
Manual dexterity, fine manipulation, and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 35 lbs.
Ability to enter and exit heavy and medium duty trucks.
Previous experience as a service writer or advisor.
Knowledge of diesel engines, gas engines, drive train, and suspension.
Heavy and medium duty truck industry experience.
Ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment.
