Job Description
What You Will Do:

Gannett Fleming is looking for a highly-motivated Senior Transportation Engineer to join our Denver team. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience in highway design. Hybrid work environment should be expected. Project management opportunities are available if desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering design tasks for highway projects from preliminary to final design
  • Develop construction contract documents, such as specifications, cost estimates and review construction documents such as shop and working drawings.
  • Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers especially in CDOT and local governments
  • Manage a team of four to eight roadway engineers in Colorado, California and Arizona
  • Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans
  • Collaborate with highway staff to develop projects
  • Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers
  • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance
  • Works as part of a project team within the highway disciplines.
  • Perform Deputy PM and PM tasks.
Education | Experience:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • PE required
  • 10+ years of experience working in Traffic and Highway/Roadway design.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel and management.
  • Experience working with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Required
  • Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer (preferred), ProjectWise and Microsoft Office
  • Local candidates preferred
