Salary: $72,000 - $80,000

The Benefits and Compensation Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, accident plan, flexible spending plan, and retirement plans) and compensation programs, policies, and procedures to align with the company's goals and competitive practices.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Manage enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, 401(k) and QMCSOs.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
  • Assist in gathering employee data to process monthly billings and the preparation of payment for all group plans.
  • Perform plan audits.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates and the field staff.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Assists with new acquisition onboarding.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Assists with leave of absence administration.
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process.
  • Administers the tuition reimbursement program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field preferred
  • Three to five years of related employee benefits and compensation experience
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, and Medicare.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Detail Oriented

While performing the physical demands of this position, associates are expected to observe and adhere to safety and security procedures, promoting a safe work environment.

Physical activity normally entails the following:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Lift up to 20 pounds.

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
