This position will support the NASA EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program's (EHP) Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) Project SEI team - part of the Artemis portfolio at the NASA Johnson Space Center. As part of this team, you will serve as a systems engineer supporting the SEI Cross-Stakeholder Integration team.

Work Model: 100% onsite; option for hybrid with 4 days onsite and 1 day remoteper week

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the LTV Project SEI office at NASA Johnson Space Center, which is responsible for the definition, development, and implementation of the LTV in support of the Artemis architecture
  • Support the CSI Lead and integrate SE efforts across the core LTV SE team, the Insight/Oversight SE team, cross-project, and with the EHP CSI team (e.g., cross-programmatic working groups/forums, documents, bi-lateral agreements)
  • Attend project and program meetings and reviews to keep SE&I team informed of developments
  • Develop project SE&I documents as needed
  • Review, comment, maintain, and update project level documents as needed
  • Conduct CRs (external documents routed to LTV for review/comment) related to system specifications documents and work with the SE technical coordinators to ensure alignment with project needs
  • Assist with project lifecycle reviews (generated slide content, present as needed)

This position is available as a Senior Member of Technical Staff or Project Engineer

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

Senior Member of Technical Staff

  • Bachelor of Science degree or advanced degree in engineering or science
  • 3 or more years of professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and technical interfaces
  • Experience integrating multiple teams and complex systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NASA program life cycle and associated milestone reviews
  • Working experience in CMW, sharepoint, and wiki pages
  • Ability to effectively utilize oral and written communication to express technical concepts and recommendations to personnel at all technical and managerial levels
  • Ability to work in a quick-paced, small core team that leads technical discussions across a large technical community and influences teams across the NASA enterprise
  • Initiative and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
  • Excellent teaming and leadership skills with an ability to multi-task across various issues/disciplines simultaneously
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills, including development of and briefing of decision packages and complex information in a succinct and polished manner.
  • Experience working across diverse teams and many different engineering disciplines
  • Knowledge of space flight certification processes to ensure performance and safety requirements are met

Project Engineer

Same requirements as a Senior Member of Technical Staff noted above, in addition to:

  • 6 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in systems engineering, technical interfaces, NASA program lifecycle, and NASA program management environment

  • Proven ability to successfully work across multiple organizations that contribute to mission success
  • Experience with International Partner and/or Commercial vendor integration and coordination
