Zayo is seeking a Voice Architect to service as the top technical expert for voice services and platforms. Our ideal candidate will possess unique expertise that is invaluable and able to support departments including Product, Engineering, Service Delivery and Repair. The Voice Architect is responsible for staying informed of and designing to new voice technologies to align with Zayo's priorities and goals.

Our Voice Architect will work with our Product team to design services for Zayo's customers; architect and implement go forward voice platforms that are stable, reliable, and cost effective;design and implement new voice technologies and platforms that are stable, redundant, and scalable; optimize network configurations and call routing; and work with other teams to incorporate automation and proactive monitoring.

In addition, our Voice Architect will develop standards and design templates for services that simplify customer configurations. This role will use these standards, templates, and new technology to work with other departments to develop automation tools for more efficient customer onboarding.

  • Lead team by example, mentor and assist with process and training needs; ensure process compliance and adherence to deployment best practices.

  • Assist with continuous and measurable improvement in all key processes to deliver enhanced execution results and consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Assigns tasks to team members as needed to ensure support and project timeliness. Set/adjust priorities, resolve conflicts, communicate and coordinate to ensure successful support and delivery of services by the team.

  • In accordance with Voice Architect and Voice Product Manager, Leads quarterly strategy sessions with support vendors which include discussion on performance as well as long term strategy. Acts as main point of contact for VoIP support vendors.

  • Leads the team through planning and execution of platform related growth and support. Directly responsible for successful outcome of platform expansion.

  • Lead knowledge transfer, cross-training, and documentation for the department. Leverage and generate applicable technical 'best practices' design guides to be used throughout the support organization.

  • Assists the Voice Product Manager with current and future product roadmap.

  • Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Desired Skills:

  • Experience with IP and Ethernet routing and switching in a soft switch environment.

  • Experience with Metaswitch CFS and Gateways

  • Experience with Unified Communication As A Service (UCaaS)

  • Knowledgeable in the design, implementation and support of Session Border Controllers, IAD and CPE based equipment, Media gateways, Feature and Application servers.

  • Comprehensive understanding of WAN/LAN technologies, protocols and transport services (OC12/3, DS3/1, xDSL, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, VLAN's).

  • Proficiency in telephony routing and translations.

  • Experience with SS7 signaling, SIP and STIR/SHAKEN protocols.

  • Extremely proficient in network diagnosis and troubleshooting utilizing a suite of network analysis tools (i.e. Wire Shark, Packet Sniffers etc.).

  • Strong organization and analytical skills, project and vendor management skills, excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

  • Skilled in Share Point MS Excel, MS Project (MS Office application suite) and Visio.

  • Experience supporting mission critical networks and services.

  • Strong self-initiative and the ability to identify and resolve needs outside the primary job requirements.

  • Willing and able to travel upon occasion.

  • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux based hardware, operating systems and applications.

  • Maintain technical competence by attending data seminars, training classes and reading publications and journals as appropriate.

Base pay range:

USD: $95,800 - $136,900
CAD: $87,500 - $125,000,commensurate with experience
