Description:

Markon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) with engineering, design, and review tasks. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with team members and execute project scopes, schedules, and budgets in conformance with project and customer requirements.
  • Research codes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria, and federal laws and regulations and provide sound recommendations to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide analysis and calculations of existing and proposed system and components and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems and provide recommendations for facility improvements.
  • Perform field investigations, including review of as-builts, to determine conditions, document findings, and provide a report to include a written summary of the observations, data collected, and photographs.
  • Collect all required data to provide recommendations, prepare documents, and/or review deliverables.
  • Perform data collection/management to assist with the preparation of cost estimates, schedules, report, RFPs, SOWs, and other documentation to identify the condition of existing facilities and determine the needed maintenance, repairs, and/or improvements.
  • Produce cost estimates for projects (labor, travel requirements, material, rental equipment, overhead and other direct costs).
  • Analyze proposal and develop technical analysis of submitted proposal for cost and technical performance.
  • Prepare complete reports, RFP and/or SOW documents in the required format.
  • Provide sustainment, renovation, and repair projects of existing electrical and mechanical systems to benefit Tech Codes.
  • Project Lead responsibility for generating large solicitation packages for Capital Improvement Projects (CIP): full site analysis, design-build and design-bid-build packages, project estimates, supporting drawings, documentation, and reports.
  • Coordinate with client, team members, leadership, project stakeholders and various regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in coordinating construction operations and ensure arrangements made for site availability and access, temporary utilities, gate passes and security clearances, storage and laydown areas, road closures and utility outages and time availability of government furnished equipment.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related degree
  • 7 years relevant experience in facilities HVAC, plumbing and other construction related work
  • Capability in the performance and assistance of basic mechanical engineering design management and review tasks
  • Ability to write and speak concisely
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using Cost Works
  • Experience using cost estimating software
  • Active Secret Clearance-Required
