An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Survery Manager based in one of our Energy Networks offices. The ideal candidate will be involved with the delivery of a range of projects within Mott MacDonald's energy sector. You will be also expected to provide technical support to existing team members and you will contribute to a variety of small to large projects in North America.

Responsibilities include but are not limit to the following:

  • Maintain professional survey license
  • Provide leadership to the survey staff
  • Cost estimating and development of proposals
  • Maintain knowledge on latest survey technology
  • Lead training efforts in support of developing staff
  • Working in project teams
  • Perform data quality checks
  • Advise staff and other disciplines on best practices
  • Interfacing with clients
  • Manages administrative functions related to personnel and clients, invoicing, timesheet approvals, disciplinary and performance coaching
  • Evaluate staff and provide feedback
  • Lead the efforts in maintaining data organization as well as structure and processes
  • Some travel required

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • 10+ years land survey experience as a Professional Surveyor
  • 5+ years managing a survey team
  • Experienced in field work
  • Experience in Energy a plus
  • Must Possess Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
  • Strong knowledge of land survey practices and techniques
  • Experience in both conventional and GPS survey data
  • Experience in working with published coordinate systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and /or Carlson, Trimble Business Center, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment physical, background check and drug screen
  • Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and including handling confrontations with pose and efficiency

Salary Range: $115,000 - $135,000
