The models will be the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model with a thermosphere/ionosphere eXtention (WACCM-X) and the thermosphere-ionosphere-electrodynamics General Circulation Model (TIE-GCM).

The data will include various data sources such as thermospheric composition and electron density data from the Global-scale Observations of Limb and Disk (GOLD) mission, thermospheric composition data from the Global Ultraviolet Imager (GUVI) limb measurements onboard the Thermosphere Ionosphere Mesosphere Energetics and Dynamics (TIMED) satellite, data from the Ionospheric Connection Explorer (ICON) mission, data from incoherent scatter radars, COSMIC-2, and ground GPS total electron content.
