Maxar Intelligence is currently seeking a Senior Manager Accounting to join our team in Westminster, CO. The Senior Manager Accounting will be responsible for overseeing Technical accounting and Revenue accounting. They will be a member of the Maxar Intelligence team and report to the Maxar Intelligence Chief Accounting Officer.

Responsibilities

  • This position will be primarily responsible for researching emerging accounting issues, creating white papers on issues and communicating with external auditors.

  • Manage the monthly close process for revenue accounting, including assessing revenue recognition of contracts under ASC 606.

  • Review and post certain journal entries.

  • Provide support for financial reporting, including annual financial statements

  • Manage and review the preparation of financial information required to be reported monthly to the Board of Directors and quarterly to the lenders.

  • Partner with other finance and business teams to coach/explain unusual or complex transactions.

  • Build cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders including Sales, Shared Services, Legal, Accounting, FP&A, HR and the private equity firm contacts, amongst others.

  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes in the areas that you are responsible for.

  • Facilitate the external audit by providing data to external auditors and responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Prepare other ad-hoc requests for analyses and information, as needed.

  • Perform special projects or duties as required within the finance department.

Basic qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Strong knowledge of accounting and U.S. GAAP

  • 8+ years relevant accounting experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and application of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience

  • Ability to work in a complex and fast paced environment

  • Excellent analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset

  • Certified Public Accountant

  • Experience with SAP and OneStream (consolidation software)

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$115,000.00 - $191,000.00 annually.


Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
