Job Title: Specimen Accessioning Technologist (0.75 FTE)

Job Summary:

The Specimen Accessioning Technologist is responsible for the receiving and logging of dermatological and oral pathology specimens. By entering new and updated specimen information into the computer system, the specimen is prepared for the Grossing Technologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accepts and receipts specimen samples from couriers.
  • Prepares specimens for computer entry by compiling and sorting information, establishing entry priorities.
  • Processes customer documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents or specimens to the lab manager for resolution.
  • Enters customer and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or barcode scanner.
  • Maintains specimen entry requirements by following proper techniques and procedures.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a pathology lab

May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $47,724 - $57,679(Salary will be 0.75 FTE).

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
