Position Overview

The Development team at RMI is seeking an experiencedDevelopment Lead - Multilateral/Bilateral with exceptional organizational, project management,and communication skills.This position willsupportfrontline fundraisersmanaging multi-million dollarportfolios in the international public sector, including multilateral and bilateral aid agencies. The right candidate will be proactive and able to work independently to drive processes and keep momentum.

The Development Lead - Multilateral/Bilateral willdriveseveralcritical processeson behalf of our fundraising team,including:project managing successfulproposals,coordinating reports and ongoing stewardship materials,assistingwith funder data and management, andmaintainingmomentumbehindongoing activities and external relationships.This personwill coordinate with programmatic and operational staffacrossRMIwhile building effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction offundraisers, manage proposaldevelopment processes, including:
    • Coordinating among RMIteams including program staff and accounting team;
    • Setting realistic timelines and ensuring deadlines are met;
    • Managing workflowsand securing approvalsformaterials including proposal narratives and budgets, and ensuring high attention-to-detail of the complete proposal packageagainst donor requirements.
  • Track upcoming funder reports, coordinate with program teamstodevelop narrativereports,coordinatewith finance team on financial reports, and work withfundraisersto design and executecomprehensive stewardship plans.
  • Support fundraisers inkeymeetings with donors and externalstakeholders,andmanage follow up.
  • Maintain high-quality and up-to-date data inSalesforce andSharepoint
  • Liaison between the program team and RMI's operational departments
  • Additional responsibilities, as required.

Specific to Public Sector accounts:

  • Serve as a resource for teams to ensure consistency, quality assurance, and completeness of grant and fee-for-service proposals to multilateral and bilateral partners
  • Under the direction of the Director - Multilateral/Bilateral, track and own processes such as driving new institutional policies, data collection and managementas needed to support RMI projects fundedby multilateral and bilateral partners
  • Assist in interpreting proposal requirements of major bilateral and multilateral aid agencies such as the World Bank or UN, and work together with the Development Officer and program teams to meet those requirements
  • Assist withsecuring or managing RMI's registrations with international organizations and networks
  • Lead research into new bilateral or multilateral funds for international development and climate change,and evaluateagainsttheirpotentialtoRMI programming

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in International Development, International Relations, Energy, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in administration, operations, project management or related
  • Experience infundraising and/or proposal developmentfor multilateral and bilateral aid agencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software skills
  • Proven organization skills and flexibility when it comes to balancing priorities
  • Attention to detail and exceptional accuracy

Additional Qualifications:

  • Excellent writingand editing skills
  • Interest inphilanthropyandinternational development
  • Background or experience in energy and/or climate change
  • Proactive, can-do attitude and the ability toanticipateneed
  • Familiarity with major global institutions and their processes such as World Bank, UN, bilateral aid agencies, etc.
  • Interest in international development
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
  • Experience working with senior staff in various organizations and governments
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Ability to manage stakeholder relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively multitask
  • Good judgment and strong decision-making ability

Compensation:

RMI compensates based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary for this role is in between $76,030 to $93,707.You would also have an additional 5% bonus target!
